What an amazing gem combo. Thank you Africa for these gem wonders. Deep beautiful green Tanzanian Chrome Tourmaline. Accented by Zambian Aquamarines . Very rare!

Chrome tourmaline is a rare, gemstone quality variety of chromium-bearing green dravite. Dravite is one of several specific varieties of the tourmaline group. Although dravite tourmaline is quite common in occurrence, most deposits are too opaque or too heavily included to be of any gemstone value. Chrome tourmaline, or chrome dravite, owes its color to traces of chromium, the same element responsible for red ruby and green emerald. It may also contain vanadium, another coloring agent commonly found in both emerald and tsavorite garnet. Chrome tourmaline is highly-prized for its distinct, rich forest-green color and is considered a collector's gem, but not because it lacks the hardness and durability for jewelry, but because of its extreme rarity in occurrence.

Welcome to "Andy's Garage Sale". Andy, Andrew, is my father, who was a gem dealer, gem enthusiast, gem lover and inspiration to many in the gem world for over 40 years. Andy was a main attraction at many gem shows, people loved him for many reasons. He had an amazing gem collection with some of the world's most unique gemstones on display, a mesmerizing Hungarian accent and the "Garage Sale". Andy loved gemstones so much he wanted everyone to have an opportunity to appreciate and own gemstones of their own. So he created the "Garage Sale", for those starting their gemstone collections, jewelry students and for the average person who couldn't afford the “big ones” but none the less appreciated these beauties as much as he did. He loved gemstones so much he wanted to share his joy with everyone. Andy would have a whole table dedicated to these gemstones, admirers flocked from miles around to see what Andy would put out in the “Garage Sale”.

Many times I manned the Garage Sale at gemshow's, and people had so much respect for Andy doing this for them, allowing them to fulfill their gemstone dreams, what a great guy. Andy went to gemstone heaven in 2012. I've decided to bring back Andy's Garage Sale!!!! I miss my dad every day but am thrilled to carry on this part of his legacy. Andy's buy favorite thing to say “More Color the Better”. He had an amazing talent for combining colors that no one would ever dream of, but they worked. So I've created these colorful combinations that hopefully will make you smile and my daddy proud. After 40 years in the business you collect many different objects related to the gem trade, hence passed on to me, passed on to you. I hope you will enjoy these treasures in honor of my dear Andy.
