Siddhartha Buddha buy Statue

Hand designed using a non hardening clay, then molded into a hard copy plaster, then molded again using my own hand made silicone mold, then in a metal mixing bowl mixed by hand a fine sand and cement mix, cast into the silicone mold, then demolded,then hand detailed using my finest metal instruments, then hand colored using a mix of concrete color, then finished with a water based concrete sealer for a smooth natural stone look. I designed this Siddhartha Buddha aka Shakyamuni in the Spring of 2016. Siddhartha was an Indian Prince that ruled the Shakya clan that was formerly ruled by his father who was King at the time. Over time Siddhartha grew quite disenfranchized by the lavish life of his ancestral Kingdom and when his father grew ill, he decided to embark on a journey to detach himself from his earthly possessions and attachments in hopes of ending the cycle of birth, old age, sickness and death, which at that time ravaged his Kingdom. He decided to detach himseld buy from his human desires and attachments by meditating in deep in-vestigation, and as he pondered about his existence, he was able to free himself from natural and earthly diversions. His single mindedness and determination eventualy led him to find enlightenment. Once, he reached that enlightened state, he was recognized as a "Buddha" and today is commonly know as Shakyamuni Buddha and to his caste the great "sage". I am very fascinated by myth and in every "myth" there is truth. My depiction of Siddhartha is captured by his beautiful, serene face, his beautifully decorated robe and his calm disposition. A great peice for display on a bedside table, a bathroom vanity, a fireplace mantel, etc. A great piece for an outdoor sanctuary in a front yard garden, looks great displayed in a garden with beautiful greenery.
