Dear Shopper,

Please meet the scarf-in-the-tube I call “SCUBEE.”

Now this is more than a scarf…it's a Hood… a Snood…and a Hat with a ‘tude.

It is more than fashionable…it is reliably functional. You won't lose this scarf so easily when it snags something and slides off without your knowing it. With this design you won't find the ends trapped in the car door flapping and waving to the entire World while in traffic either!

I don't know about you…but here in Michigan it sure is nice to pull up something that traps your ambient body heat but also prevents fogging up the windshield while you wait for the car to warm up.

Dear Shopper,

Please meet the scarf-in-the-tube I call “SCUBEE.”

Now this is more than a Cowl scarf…it's a Hood… a Snood…and a Hat with a buy ‘tude.

It is more than fashionable…it is reliably functional. You won't lose this scarf so easily. Traditional scarves are prone to snag and slide off. The Scubee design stays safely wrapped around your neck so you won't find the ends trapped in the car door flapping and waving to the entire World while in traffic either!

I don't know about you…but here in Michigan it sure is nice to pull up something that traps your ambient body heat and if you tuck into it to breathe you can prevent fogging up the windshield while you wait for the car to warm up.

THE STORY BEHIND THE BIRTH OF THE SKUBEE:

I have a young friend named Dan Price who contracted Lyme's disease. After a few years of being undiagnosed he finally began an aggressive course of medical treatment. In treating the whole patient his Physician suggested he also take up the “Walking Cure.” To regain a sense of overcoming and returning to a level of normalcy he chose to get outside and face the elements again. Dan also discovered a newfound love and skill for photography, too. His photography and path to recovery can be viewed at: https://www.danpricephoto.com/about-2 Dan takes us to ordinary sites or deep in the woods…or high on the mountain tops. Please visit his site…his journey has been breathtaking.

When I inquired about bartering my knitting skills for one of his photographs it got me thinking about his safety in the woods during hunting season. Dan admitted there were times where he was indeed concerned so I fashioned a SAFETY ORANGE cap to slap on top of his normal hat when he decided it would be necessary. Otherwise the cap could simply be folded and tucked away when not needed. I wondered if there something else he could have that would not get lost, or snagged…would keep him warm or warmer when needed and that became the impetus behind the original pattern of the #Snug Scubee you see featured here.

I have since gone on to think about solutions to situations that others might be challenged in...like Cancer Recovery and dressing for warmth while wearing a wig. While I was creating a looser, lighter version of the original Snug Scubee I developed the pattern we just call Scubee. I tested the Market with a wide variety of ages young and old and found my Scubees are fabulous for folks with voluminous hair...in fact, even beneficial for ethnic hair that can become brittle in wind-whipping climates.

These Scubees are hand washable and should be dried flat on a towel.

Be sure to check out my looser Scubees, too. These make wonderful, thoughtful gifts. I also take custom orders for school pride and other requests.
