A. Cashmere and Pashmina is one and the same thing, these are two names for the finest wool from the Changra Goat which is found in Ladakh Region of Kashmir. In the Indian Subcontinent, it is known as Pashmina, outside it is known by the name, Cashmere. The two words Pashmina & Cashmere should not be confused. Cashmere word when used to denote Pashmina, gives more significance to its origin i.e., Valley of Kashmir. Today every genuine ‘Pashmina' is ‘Cashmere' but every ‘Cashmere' is NOT genuine ‘Pashmina'.
