This is a exquisitely detailed set based on the collective tales of One thousand and One Nights (Kitāb alf laylah wa-laylah) often known as Arabian Nights. The work was collected over many centuries by various authors, translators, and scholars across West, Central, South Asia and North Africa. The tales themselves trace their roots back to ancient and medieval Arabic, Persian, Indian, Egyptian and Mesopotamian folklore and literature. The set features Shahryar (Persian for King) and Scheherazade as the King and Queen pieces.

The set is Made to order and takes around 3 weeks from casting to completion. it can be a wee bit swifter depending on timing and workload. Creation times can get longer in the busy season especially mid September on if you have a time crunch or a specific date just message and i can give you solid confirmation.

This listing includes All 32 pieces to make a full set of chessmen. Boards are not included,

Each piece is Cold-Cast by hand using Tufstone a polymer modified gypsum cement, then painted, glazed and buy felt bottoms attached.
This set requires a board with at least a 1 1/2 inch squares,
The King is 3 1/2 inches tall the Pawns are 2 1/2 inches

I make each piece as strong as possible these are essentially akin to a solid ceramic handled correctly they will last a lifetime but will break if dropped on a concrete floor for instance.The set is shipped with each piece individually bubble wrapped and laid on a bed of larger bubbles and packing Peanuts
