This spectacular set of etched or reverse carved crystal cufflinks are just amazing! Each of the light gray crystals are deep, and are etched from behind with a pagoda in fine detail. I'm not sure of maker, becuase I can't find a mark, but I can see the quality in this set! Swank did make some similar, but it's odd that these are not marked. You can't go wrong with this set of vintage cufflinks! Lot EEE1
PLEASE NOTE: the following is considered the ‘fine print' :
METAL PURITY: If I my listing includes any indication of metal purity (i.e., sterling silver, 14k gold, etc) that means specifically that either the item is marked as such, or I have tested the item. However, if the listing says “tested” please understand that I am not an expert nor a jeweler and there is no guarantee. I try to the best of my ability to insure that what I say is accurate, but am not infallible. There is no attempt to mislead bidders.
RIVOLI CRYSTAL and CRYSTAL: I tend to lump any stones/crystals or just glass that seem to flash a range of colors into the ‘Rivoli' category. This includes those sometimes called watermelon Rivoli as well as some that I see called Aurora Borealis. Only rarely do I obtain men's vintage jewelry in original boxes so that I can confidently call it “Rivoli”. If it flashes in a range of colors I call it Rivoli; if the color always seems to be consistently one color, I just call it crystal. Another name for this which you sometimes see is Heliotrope crystal. Also, it is difficult to photograph pieces with faceted crystals, particularly those that are “Rivoli” buy and show their true and unique color. When that is the case, I try to describe it to the best of my ability. To the best of my knowledge, the stones in any of my men's accessories are not ‘real' unless I so note in the description… so who knows, my ignorance may be to your advantage! For items that appear to be onyx, jade or other semi-precious stones I may call them what they appear to be, but cannot guarantee they are not faux stones.

While we don't wear ties as often in this day, having a smart tie tack, bar, or chain can move your style up a notch or two. NOTES ON PHOTOGRAPHS: Many of the stones and even metal used in vintage men's jewelry is hard to photograph in such a way that it's true color shows. This can be due to reflection, facets, and lighting as well as the small size of some pieces. I try to take multiple pictures with different back grounds and lighting to help with that. I also try to describe them accurately.
BRANDS, DATES, and NAMES of specific cufflinks or men's accessories: I only identify cufflinks or tie bars/tacks as Dante, Swank, Hickok, Destino, etc IF I see them plainly marked as such. This even applies to cufflinks which I get in what seems to be an original box. Things get put into different boxes all the time. Also, some specific style MAY have been produced by several companies, some of which did not mark their products. If they are marked, I do attempt to get a photograph showing that.
CONDITION: I sell vintage men's accessories, so they will not, unless noted, be absolutely mint. However, I also do not sell any item I would not proudly wear myself. Some minor scratching may exist or wear in places that are not visible when wearing might be there. Also, I do not sell items that are in need of major serious cleaning, but all vintage jewelry may benefit from a light cleaning. I'd advice buyers to research how to best and safely clean costume jewelry do that if needed; if the item purchased is marked or I've tested it to be silver or gold, use appropriate cleaning methods for those materials. Personally, I like a little of the natural patina on sterling silver pieces and gold pieces.
ME: I'm a die-hard men's accessory collector, and have a large collection of vintage men's jewelry. And, as my collection has grown, I've found that I don't' have to wear what I collect to church, weddings, and funerals but can wear them in almost every occasion. I can't stop collecting, but there is a limit! When I see a piece that meets my high standards of what I'd wear, I buy it. But, since I can't keep it all and sometimes get duplicates, it has to go. That means you get to enjoy the great pieces I find! I'm a collector first and foremost, and don't sell as a business… only to pass along the great stuff I find! Rest assured that the money I make selling only gets reinvested in my 'hobby'.. or is it an obsession? You decide.
