This colorful piece came to me in a dream at first - or at least that space between sleep and alertness... it was a breath of an idea that I barely saw or felt, then it was gone. The next night it came to me again, clearly taking shape in my mind. I figured I had better paint it before it faded again.

The original is acrylic on canvas. The piece's watercolor look truly lends itself to the depth of the roots and the starkness of each trees' delicate branches; so fragile above, yet sturdy beneath.
