A rare copper engraving by Bernard Picart (1673-1733), showing the story from early Roman history (or legend) of the rape of Lucretia by Sextus Tarquinius (Tarquin). Based on a painting by Palma Vecchio. This engraving was printed on hand laid paper in the Netherlands in 1734.
