On offer is this lovely collectible antique box / container. It's in good condition overall, the silver plating shines up well still - notable ware around the ball finial exposing the base copper metal; notable light scuffs and scratches all over commensurate with age as well as a number of small dimples; there are also a few deep scores / scratches buy around the applied border edges and the ball finial itself has been heavily hit at some stage resulting in it sitting at a notable angle (please refer to images) and cracking / splitting between the join and ball area but as shown all adding to the aged charm and character of the piece.

It's of traditional circular form, beautifully decorated with applied border edges which display ever so well still.

The top retains its original fixed ball finial which still looks great despite the evident damage.

The interior is clean and shines up well - notable ware over the base area exposing the base nickel silver (brassy tone) as well as darkened marks.

Unmarked for a maker, English produced, circa third to fourth quarter of the 19th century.

It measures 10cm (4 inches) in outer base diameter, 10cm (4 inches) in total height to the top of the ball finial and despite the condition issues raised is ready to be collected and enjoyed once again!
