Ocean Jasper is a type of orbicular jasper from the shoreline of the northwest coast of Madagascar. This material is rare due to the nature of the mining process as well as the rarity of known deposits. The material is mined from areas that are only accessible during low tides and all material must be transported out of the area by boat.

Orbicular Jasper is known for patterning that consists of spherical shapes. Other types of orbicular jasper include Poppy Jasper and Oregonite.

Ocean Jasper contains patterns of green-gray, white, cream, beige, brown, pink and maroon. The material can often include translucent areas as well as crystal druzy pockets. Ocean Jasper has a 6.5-7 on the Moh's hardness scale allowing it to take a wonderful polish.
