12 piece pastel rainbow, 14.5" long, 2.5" wide.

Brand new wooden rainbow toy, also known as Waldorf / Montessori / Grimm's inspired toddler toy. Great for imaginative play, pretend play, motor skills, spatial reasoning, colour and shape coordination.

Handmade in Ottawa/Gatineau Canada of natural, hardwood- east coast poplar or African mahogany. Painted semi-mat finish) with special paints for toys that meet and by far supersede all relevant Canada, USA and Europe regulations for children's toys, even under 3 years of age. Option to have it finished with coconut and beeswax finish for more shine. Note: colour may vary slightly from that on the picture due to differences in monitor colour set up; custom colours also possible. Passes “small parts cylinder” test so it's great for any age. Please note that even though the toy is safe for under 3 years of age, it is not chew proof, and shouldn't be used as a teether as the wood / paint may get damaged. We'd only recommend unpainted maple wood for teethers.

Measures approximately 14.5" long x 7.25" high x 3" wide.

In short...:
I make all the rainbows myself in my (very minimalistic and cute) wood shop. All of the wood I use I buy it new and handpick it carefully from a family run wood supplier in Ottawa. Some of my favourite woods to work with are mahogany, poplar and ash. I use power tools for the cuts and for the sanding it's a combination of power tools and hand tools (I even made a special sanding tool just for the rainbows:). The paints are top quality and fully certified for toys, cost my arm to purchase; I apply two coats of paint and sand between coats so the finish is very smooth. I use repurposed packaging boxes and new packaging papers.
I have a whole book with my own toy designs which are waiting to be executed :) and I'm really looking forward to have the time to do it.
