FAIRY WINGS: Fairies have a strong presence in local folklore on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. They are especially important to the history of Clan MacLeod. On a misty day the flash of rainbow colors in the foggy mist can make you stop and think, "Wait, did I just see a glimpse of one." I used this local North Carolina alpaca and a novelty yarn of turquoise and purples to reflect this bit of Skye folklore.
Shawl: The Fairy Wings is one of my original designs to make a scarf that fits the back of the neck and upper center back and has a long front. This shape sits very well without much movement, plus it can be worn with the point in front and the ends brought around to the front. A scarf or small neck warmer shawl in soft bulky alpaca.
Hand knit, durable, lightweight, long and warm. A scarf with a touch of lace that can be worn in a variety buy of ways to fit your style. Hand washed and blocked to stabilize color and sizing.
