The Kiev-30 camera was produced at the Kiev Arsenal from 1975 to 1987. And the entire line was in production from 1960 to the middle, or even the end of the 90s. Solid!
Fixed lens Industar-M 3.5 / 23.
Kiev-30, as they say now, is a cropped apparatus, so it would be nice to know the EGF of the lens.
It is easy to find information that the angle of view of Industar-M for a frame format of 13 × 17 mm is 50 °. This corresponds approximately to an EGF of 50 mm. Yeah, the lens is not wide angle.
Let's calculate more precisely through the crop factor. The diagonal of a standard 24 × 36 frame is 43.27 mm, and a 13 × 17 frame is 21.4 mm. So the crop factor = 2.02, and the EGF = 46.5 mm.
It seems so, if the knowledge of the Pythagorean theorem does not let me down.
In general, the angle of the lens is close to fifty dollars, and it seems to me that this is not very good.
Such a concept of the device would definitely be better with a wide-angle lens with an EGF, some kind of 28 millimeters. Or even all 20! Although no, 28 is perhaps the most balanced option.
Such a focal length would provide a greater depth of field and would be less sensitive to shake.
Despite the diminutiveness of the lens, it has a diaphragm. It has two lobes and forms a square hole. The device allows you to set the aperture from f3.5 to f11 with all intermediate values. Complete aperture control!
You also need to focus the lens. MDF = 0.5 meters.
The device is designed for 16 mm non-perforated film. The length of the film can be 45 or 65 cm. Frames, respectively, will be 17 or 25.
The film is loaded into a cassette in which there are both supply and receive coils without the possibility of their disconnection.
Rewinding at Kiev-30 is not provided.
On sale there was a cutter for self-production of 16 mm film from 35 mm (!!!).
Go ahead
Shutter - curtain with metal shutters. Only 3 exposures are recaptured - 1/30, 1/60, 1/200.
At any exposure, the frame window opens completely. This means that synchronization (and the device has a synchronizer) is possible at any of the three shutter speeds.
The presence of a synchronizer is, of course, surprising. No, an option, no doubt, useful, but the device is tiny. It's just smaller than most Soviet flares!
There are no flash clips on the device, of course.
There is no self-timer either. And there is no tripod socket: o)
The weight of my copy without the lens is 180 grams.
