buy These hammered silver earrings are handmade with solid, nickel free sterling silver. I cut the unique teardrop shaped dangle from sterling silver sheet and then carefully hammer texture the entire surface. The way that I hammer them is a bit different from our other designs and the result is absolutely stunning and catches the light so beautifully. I use a rounded edge goldsmith's hammer to create an overlapping line texture. I begin at the edges carefully planning each hammer blow to be consistent and rotate around the earring until I eventually reach the center. Hammering them in this way produces a slight concave curve to the teardrop that is slightly cupped in the center and radiating lines that go all of the way around the teardrop shape. This technique takes time and patience but I truly enjoy the process and the end result is so worth it! These are given a high shine so they catch the light perfectly. I wanted to add some extra length to the design without adding any additional weight or elements so I made longer ear wires that measure an inch so that the teardrop will dangle a bit lower than if they were on standard size ear wires. I think this really gives them a modern edge and this statement look is really perfect to dress up or down. These were designed to be lightweight and comfortable to wear, perfect for everyday!

* The total length of the earring including the ear wire is 2". The teardrop shape measures 1" x 1" and the drop from the ear will be around 1.6" total.
