Organic Shea Butter is a beautiful natural emollient. After each leather corded piece is made, I apply a thin coat of shea butter to it. The shea butter will help keep the leather soft and moisturized so it does not dry out as much and become brittle. It also helps keep it from breaking and helps to seal the knotting. It also protects it a bit more from water in the instance it gets wet. Shea butter is not used on the vegan suede cord, natural genuine suede cord, or elastic stretch pieces.
