Vicke Lindstrand buy - Stella Polaris Collection - Iced blue Crystal Bowl candlesticks Orrefors Ashtray- 1940 - Scandinavian Mid-century

This amazing collection of two candlesticks for small candles, bowl / ashtray, small vase/ Candleholder by Vicke Lindstrand is from his "Stella Polaris" Series collection he made for Orrefors.
The pieces is made late 1940s.

The star-shaped diffusion of light and its Icy glacial blue color is responsible for the name of the series.

The each piece has round, smooth, chubby edges.

Signed at the base by Orrefors.


Very good vintage condition with scratches at the bottom.

Viktor (Vicke) Lindstrand (1904-1983) is one of Orrefors' greatest legends who worked with greats such as Simon Gate and Edward Hald.
Year 1928, Simon Gates, himself employed Vicke to Orrefors Glasbruk.

His mouth blown designs has won several design awards.

His work broke through at the Stockholm Fair in 1930 and the World Exhibition in New York in 1939, where large glass monuments were erected.

Lindstrand was the first with blow-molded glass that could give the most amazing shapes and he further developed the Graal teqnicue among other things.
