I was going through some of my old Nintendo Power magazines when I found the add for the Nintendo World Championships and when they were coming to Detroit back in the day. I remember going with my cousin and having an absolute blast. I wasn't very good at the qualifying games, but my cousin made it to the next round which was cool. Looking back and enjoying those memories, I was inspired to paint this.
