Smoky Quartz Statement Necklace with Argentium Wire on Sterling Silver Satellite Chain

This rare smoky quartz is mined in Brazil, and has an excellent transparency and clarity. Sized at roughly 7.5cm, this organic shape stone is a smooth slice and extremely clear for it's size.

The sterling silver satellite chain is 15 inches long, looking dainty, yet very strong. A 10mm large sized spring clasp will make it easy to put the necklace on and off.

Wire work around the quartz is made of argentium silver, which is hypoallergenic, and created using recycled silver.

Recently, I started attaching the chains to the findings, using small sections of 925 sterling silver wire, to really secure the connection. In a closeup picture above, you can see loop formed wire connections. It adds visual interest to an area, usually overlooked.

First of all, you will rarely need to polish your Argentium Sterling Silver. Sometimes people who have always used Standard Sterling have a hard time adapting to this new reality.

Do not use cleaners intended for use with standard Sterling Silver. If you feel that your jewelry needs cleaning, You can clean it in warm water with mild soap solution, then pat it dry gently with a soft cloth. It can be immersed in water if there are no soft stones or pearls in the piece. Do not handle it with an abrasive cloth or sharp tools.

You can also purchase a polishing cloth that is intended for Argentium Sterling Silver, Goddard's Silver Polishing Cloth. This is generally available at retail outlets, and is a soft cloth that will last for many uses.
