A stylish Retro English Picquot Ware Coffee Set Trio - 1 Litre.
A stylish Retro English Picquot Ware Coffee Set Trio - 1 Litre Coffee / Tea Pot, Sugar Bowl with hinged lid and Milk Jug made from Magnailium, a silver coloured alloy which is polished - not plated - and has a mirror like finish. Picquot Ware is no longer made and is highly collectible. The Milk Jug and Sugar Bowl are both branded Newmaid Tableware.
Magnalium is exclusive to Picquot Ware. Picquot ware was marked "Newmaid" prior to the 1950s and 60s, when the base stamp changed to Picquot ware.
They are made to last a lifetime and the timeless style looks fabulous in both contemporary and Vintage / Retro interior décor. The item was designed by Jean Picquot and made by craftsmen in Northampton, England. c 1950s/60s.
The tall coffee pot has a buy beautiful curved stylish wooden handle and lid finial are made from sycamore wood. Each Picquot Ware item is cast in one piece to avoid leaks and has non drip spouts and heat resistant handles. This Picquot Ware Coffee Pot or Teapot was made in the 1960s.
The Coffee / Hot Water Pot is 19.5 cm (7 1/2 in) high to top of handle and 18.5 cm (7 3/8 in) from the tip of spout to the back of the handle. Holds approx 1 litre (35 fl oz / 1 ¾ pint).
The Picquot Ware Milk Jug / Creamer is 10.75 cm (4 1/4 in) high to top of the handle, 9 cm (3 1/2 in) diameter at its widest and from the back of the handle to the tip of the spout is 13 cm (5 1/4 in).
The Picquot Ware Tableware Sugar Bowl is 9 cm (3 1/2 in) high to top of lid hinge, 9.5 cm (3 3/4 in) wide and 9 cm (3 1/2 in) deep.
The Picquot Ware trio feels heavy and weighs 1050 g (2 lb 5 oz).
The Picquot Ware Trio are all in excellent vintage condition with no dents, chips or cracks. There is wear consistent with normal use such as tarnish marks and light scratches as this is a pre-loved item. The sycamore wood varnish is in good condition. They all appear to be largely unused with clean interiors, particularly the jug and sugar bowl.
The base stamp on the coffee pot says "Picquot Ware, Made in England". The label on the jug and sugar bowl says "Newmaid Tableware, Made in England".
Professional refurbishment could be considered and the beauty of Picquot ware is that you can have each item brought back to pristine condition, although this set does not need it.
I am also selling Picquot Ware items and will refund excess postage if multiple purchases are made.
