buy A beautiful work of art made in Italy I picked up in my travels in 2019 in beautiful condition a highly collectors piece measures 6 1/2 wide by 7 1/2 long.
watercolour painting is made using Papyrus paper, an ancient paper obtained from a water plant that grows spontaneously in Syracuse, Italy.

The preparation technique is still the same since 1674. Everything starts from the trunk of the plant, the bark is peeled off and then it is cutted in laths that rests overnight in water. The day after on top of a cloth the laths are put horizontally first and vertically after giving a shape to the paper, as last another cloth is put on top of the laths and the paper is pressed, after 4 to 6 hours the Papyrus paper is ready.
