We've turned up the heat on the Blue Lotus, as many requested we plump that up. It's the Bou King's Fragrance, after all! We've added some spice to amplify the Frank - and we've Frankified the Frank with over a dozen distillations to Frankenstein the Frankfulness.

Same great theme ... Mumified to the max!

The Boy King, who died at the age of 18 or 19 in 1325BC and rediscovered in 1922 - needs no introduction.

I was fascinated with him as a kid, and I have long wanted to make an inspired Attar based on this Egyptian discovery that captivated the world.

After chats with my friend IG @prof_dora (the Egyptologist making waves these past few months with her research on Ancient Egyptian Aromatics) - I figured now was as good buy as ever a time.

Without further ado, I introduce Tutankhamun Blue Lotus Attar.


THE SCENT


Part of what has held me up on making this was finding the exact Blue Lotus extraction I was wanting to use - an exceptionally difficult task as the material is quite challenging to source. I've searched for years to no avail...

There is a Thai distiller that, every few years, produces a very limited production of exceptional quality. I managed to get my hands on some of this year's production (the first he's produced since 2014) and knew exactly what part of it would be used for. It is sweet and every bit as brain piercing that one can hope for.

Tutankhamun was a known lover of Frankincense and Myrrh Perfumes, and as I recently ran a small batch production of exceptional Kush Myrrh, whose bitterness plays perfectly in counterpoint to the sweetness of this batch of Blue Lotus - it would seem the stars had finally aligned.
