What a lovely and very RARE, Victorian 1910's Derby Silver Calling/Visiting Card Receiver with Cherries. I love this footed basket! The handsome handle stands upright or lays down and has nine detailed profiles of Greek and Roman Portraits. The edges of the basket are hammered with a darling silver frog perched on one side and opposite, a pretty little butterfly. The focal point is the luscious engraved cherries. Marked on the bottom Derby Silver Co. Quadruple Plate 1009. It is quite heavy weighing over two pounds and is just absolutely gorgeous! Measures: 10 1/4" across by 9 1/2" tall including the handle.
