While shopping for various articles, I ran across two white pitchers and although there was very little personality to these pitchers, I found the shape intriguing. After taking them home, I spotted a blemish and upon looking closer I found the pitchers had actually been painted a thick white paint. With a lot of soaking in mild soap and water over 12 hours, one of the two emerged as the rare brown Castles of Britain pitcher. Although the white paint definitely detracted, it actually had preserved the finish and had most likely acted as a barrier to nicks and scratches.
The finish on the pitcher is buy immaculate with no nicks, scratches, chips or crazing.
Looks as if it came from the factory today.
