Dwight L. Moody says in the preface, "It gives me the greatest pleasure buy to add my testimony to the value of Bible Marking. In these days, when the very foundations of truth are assailed, we have but one refuge - the precious, unchangeable Word of God. I conceive that we can scarcely be engaged to any service more useful than in endeavouring to facilitate and deepen the study of the Bible. I believe the suggestion in the following plan will not only interest young Christians, but will also help more advanced believers, already engaged in Bible teaching; inasmuch as this plan of Bible Marking, with the insertion of Side Notes, Marginal References, etc., converts the margins of one's Bible into a note-book ready to hand at any moment. I heartily trust that the plan will be carefully studied and extensively used; and I doubt not but that here in this country, as in England, it will prove a great blessing."
