buy A vintage ceramic bowl covered with a glaze in greenish, brownish, blueish, and grayish hues with a delicate texture. The bowl was created by a Dutch ceramics artist Hans van Riessen. The item is in excellent condition. It is marked on the bottom with the artist name.

Hans van Riessen has been living and working since 1973 as an art potter in his own studio in Vledderveen in Drenthe.
From 1966 to 1973 he was a student of Frans Slot in Epe, who in turn learned the trade in the 1920s atChris Lanooy.
Hans van Riessen gradually developed his own unique style. This is inspired by 2000 years old Asian pottery and porcelain.
His way of working corresponds to the method that is propagated by one of the few training centers for potters from south-east Asia.
His technique is the trinity, meant here for turning, glazing and firing.
His work illustrates the never ending quest for a balance between technical craftsmanship and simple beauty.
The result is a timeless design combined with a harmonious color scheme, each piece of art is unique, one-off and hand-crafted.

Hans van Riessen regularly exhibited in private companies and in town halls.
His work is appreciated by collectors and ceramic art enthusiasts in the Netherlands and abroad.
Mr. van Riessen passed away on July 18, 2018.
