Each strip consists of three layers of fabric, 'quilted' , and then sewn together with open seams , which are then hand cut to produce the 'ragging' effect. This one has three layers of flannel. What better way to warm up than with a cozy rag quilt on a cool winter evening! Usually buy cotton/polyester on top layer, and flannel on middle and back layer. A full size quilt requires approximately 18 yards of fabric. The open seams on these quilts allow for cutting by hand into fringes, which then produces the beautiful 'ragging'. There may be some 'puckering' of fabric here/there, some uneven stitches, no quilt is perfect....this only makes YOUR quilt very unique and one of a kind !!
