Hailing from a mind-spinning variety of original sources, authentic sea glass comes in every color of the rainbow and each shade in between, and manifests in an astonishing array of shapes and textures. So naturally, certain hues and forms are far less common than others. And while all genuine purple sea glass is quite rare, most pieces tend to represent the lighter side of the spectrum, so shades of near-black, deep purple are exceptionally uncommon. Scarcer still are discoveries with patterns or texture, so the spectacular, purple-black ridged surf treasure used to create this handmade necklace is the rarest of my collection! Smoothed, fabulously frosted and shaped into a thick triangle (measuring one-and-one-quarter-inch tall and one-half-inch wide) only by time, the surf, sand and salt, this majestic ocean gem has been upcycled into a unique unisex necklace. Handcrafted with a focus on highlighting the innate beauty of the glass, which features a magnificent ridged texture on one side, a sterling silver eye pin, a powerful clear epoxy, and a series of interlocking sterling silver twist rings -- including a larger, sterling diamond-cut ring in the center -- secure it to a 24-inch, sterling silver water for a total length of 26 inches. Designed to be worn in either direction, this one-of-a-kind necklace is captivating in any light, and makes an intriguing statement day or night!

Created after decades or perhaps even centuries of tumbling across craggy ocean floors, no two pieces of genuine sea glass are exactly alike. Since each piece is very literally unique, I can't help but think of sea glass as snowflakes of the salty seas! Indeed, finding a piece in this uncommonly deep purple shade is akin to hitting the proverbial jackpot, but the reality is equal parts luck and diligence. I spend hours meticulously sorting my finds, and while many would find my efforts overzealous, I am passionate about delivering only my very best work.
