Made in England, found in Belgium, this RARE vintage Laura Ashley storage & display bin, cache tray or writing / craft supplies basket was used in a small English cottage boutique* holding stationary items. The deep jewel tones of the Rubens** pattern wallpaper covers the exterior of a thick fiber board frame while the interior is lined w/ a coordinating striped paper. This is a sturdy piece, made of dense/heavy fiber board materials. Easily used in a variety of ways and places, it has great typography on the one side w/ the remaining sides only showing off the beautiful paper.

*English brocante vendor used to own a shop in Bruges, which she adorned w/ finds from her days of living/working in a northwest area of London from mid 1980's-late 1990's. **Rubens pattern includes deep reds, sienna oranges and greens.

SIZE: it measures 14" long x 3" tall x 4 1/2" at top w/ slight narrowing to base that measures 3 1/4" wide.

CONDITION: there are NO uneven, warped or cracked areas in fiber board framing. There is age appropriate softening of edges and corners but paper is ADHERED securely on the entire piece. buy There are NO odors, water marks or stains except for the 2 small grease/oil? stains on the interior bottom (see photo).
