This is a beautiful example of Broderie Anglaise from the 1800s.
Vintage hand embroidered English embroidery edging which was originally used for dresses, petticoats, childrenswear, sleeve cuffs, etc.
Broderie Anglaise is a whitework needlework technique incorporating features of embroidery, cutwork and needle lace.
Fabric is 100% cotton.
This is enough fabric to make an edging on a pillow.
Colors may vary on different computer screens!
Vanilla stitching on vanilla cotton fabric.
Vintage Condition - Very good for being 150 to 200 years old.
There are 3 raw edges, one small stain and stitching marks from a past life.
Fabric is vintage and may have been used for items unknown.
Vintage is rarely perfect and some small flaws may go unnoticed. I have included every detail buy as accurately as possible.
