Vintage MEXICO Sterling SILVER Amethyst Swirly Bow Brooch, Long Etched Purple Gem Stone Round Smooth Domed Cabochon Early Pin, Signed (H886) buy

Vintage MEXICO SILVER and purple amethyst swirly bow brooch. A longish etched curly ribbon bow with a smooth domed round amethyst cabochon in the center. The back is signed MEXICO SILVER. This mark was often used in Mexico between 1920 and 1960, and indicates sterling silver or even higher purity (925-980). Probably made in the 1940s, this pin is in very good vintage condition. This common piece of stone is genuine natural with plenty of color variation and natural flaw hairline cracks that are only visible close up and at certain angles. The clasp is fully functioning, however, just a note that it does open for pin stick insert at an uncommon point in the rotation.

This lovely vintage treasure measures about 2 3/5" across by 1 1/8" tall. Really nice old piece to wear and add to your collection.
