Vintage (50s) Large ASIAN CHALKWARE PLANTER buy by American Art Ind. / Very Good Condition / 12" x 7-1/2" / Funky, Unique, Unusual / Rare Find!

I love it when I come across very vintage (and very 50s cool) beauties like this!!!

This fun, funky, unusual and quite rare Chalkware Planter, manufactured in the early 1950s by American Art Ind., features a lovely buy and quite exotic looking Asian Woman posing on an a bench with two baskets by her side. She is sporting a lovely chartreuse colored blouse with a gold and red collar, a gold sash, black pants and gold slippers. On her head is a crown-like headpiece in matching gold, chartreuse and red coloring.

This fabulous (and quite sturdy) Planter is in very good condition, consistent with its age and use, with no chips, cracks or repairs - quite a remarkable feat for a Chalkware piece of this advanced age (70+ years)! It does have a few small paint chip here and there, but these are barely noticeable. Please look at all of the listing photos for an accurate view of the condition of this vintage piece.

This beauty measures 12" in height, 7-1/2" across and approximately 4" deep - and weighs an impressive 3-1/2 pounds! It is marked "840" on the back. The two Planter areas measure approximately 1-3/4" in diameter and each have a small drainage hole which filters out of the back of the Planter.

The perfect Planter for small air plant or succulents - and the perfect (and perfectly divine!) addition to anyone's vintage Chalkware Collection!
