Antique Dinner Plate 10" Hand Painted Porcelain Victorian Shabby Cottage
This is a gorgeous antique porcelain dinner plate that features pink roses and foliage on a multicolored and shaded background. The plate is further accented with hand applied gold line along the rim. This would make a fine addition to your antique porcelain collection or use as intended on your dining table.
The plate measures 10" diameter.
This arm and stiletto mark shown on the base was used by Springer & Co. of Elbogen, Bohemia (now Loket, Czech Republic), one of the potteries that was part of EPIAG. The pottery was founded in 1815 by Rudolf Eugen Haidinger and Eugen Haidinger and operated under various names and owners. It became Springer & Co. in 1885 and joined OEPIAG, an association of potteries, in 1918. In 1920 the name of the association was changed to EPIAG (First Bohemian Porcelain Industry).
Signed Bryan. This was painted by Mary E. Bryan and matches many other pieces in the collection that I have listed. To see more of her items, please look up "Bryan" in the search bar located in my shop.
Condition is very good, with wear to the gilt trim.
This is part of a huge collection of antique porcelain that I recently acquired from a North East, MD estate of the descendants of Mary Bryan, who was a pupil of Baltimore china painter Paul Putzki in 1906. The items were hand painted by estate owner's mother in law in the buy early 1900s. All pieces are authentic and antique. I will be listing more of these pieces over the next few weeks, so please check back to see what is new to my shop.
