This listing is for a pack of 10 indigo blue and white patterned, cotton yukata fabrics. Each pack contains Ten, 1 yard (36 inches/91.4cm) pieces of vintage yukata cotton. Every pack has a random assortment of 10 fabrics. Please note that the photos show a representation of the patterns available and you may receive different patterns than shown in the photos.
**Please remember that traditional Japanese yukata fabrics are NOT as wide as modern fabrics.
Fabrics range from about 13 inches (33 buy cm) to 16 inches (40 cm) wide**
These fabrics were taken from vintage deadstock bolts or yukata. Some of these fabrics were washed while some are unused and are still crisp from starch. These fabrics are vintage and may contain small flaws, such as small age spots.
The majority of the patterns of these fabrics were created using a stencil and resist paste. The resist paste is applied to areas where the fabric should be white and then the fabric is dyed. The paste is then washed away leaving a white pattern.
These fabrics were dyed with either natural indigo, synthetic indigo or a combination of natural and synthetic.
The fabrics can be used to create boro - inspired patchwork patterns, komebukuro (rice bags), pouches, table runners, placemats, doll clothing or fiber art.

Washing instructions:
The color may transfer to other items due to friction or moisture.
Wash separately and rinse thoroughly.
Do not leave the fabric in water as it will cause the color to bleed.
Wash in cool water. Iron on cotton/steam setting with a cloth between iron and fabric.
*If you plan to use this fabric for a project that will be washed often then I recommend pre-washing by hand and then machine drying to pre-shrink the cotton. Cotton dyed with botanical indigo WILL bleed color so it is best to pre-wash in cool water and rinse fabric until the water is running clear. Do not let the fabric soak in water as this may cause the color to stick to the white areas of the fabric*
*I am always willing to provide more information or pictures regarding my fabrics or using/sewing these fabrics. Please do not hesitate to send me a convo if you have any questions.*
