Grimm's Fairy Tales is a classic collection of folklore from Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm. It was first published in two volumes, Kinder- und Hausmarchen.
Grimm's Fairy Tales contains around 200 stories. Most of these tales were adapted from oral sources. The most well-known stories include "Hansel and Gretel," Snow White," Little Red Riding Hood," Sleeping Beauty," Tom Thumb," Rapunzel," and "Rumpelstiltskin." These stories were written by Jacob Ludwig Carl Grimm (1785-1863), and Wilhelm Carl Grimm (1786-1859). They are both psychological archetypes and fantasy narratives. There have been many adaptations of their stories, including print, theatrical, operatic and balletic.
