This is a fabulous hand painted and signed wood egg that I believe is Russian orthodox.

It measures about 5" high and about 3 1/4" in diameter, and the signature is in cyrillic writing on the bottom.

The egg is solid and appears to be wood, and the painting depicts a crucifixion scene.

In good vintage preowned condition, it shows typical wear from age with no damage or repair. I don't know much about these particular eggs, and I welcome more information on it.
