• You tell me your special date (or the one from the person receiving the gift) and I will look how the moon was on that night. I will craft the jewel with that Moon Phase, imprint the Date on the back, and personalize also the Packaging!

This moon jewel is all handmade by me, sculptured with the texture of the moon's surface, and cast in solid sterling silver (925). Dainty size, but solid and thick (2mm) with a nice weight feel. The black area is oxidized* to show the lightened and darkened areas of the moon as it was on the night you'd choose as your special day. The finish of the front of the moon is highly polished and on the back, the finish is bright sandblasted, also resembling the texture of the moon's surface. The imprinted date at the back is included, as shown in the second picture.
The color of the cord is your choice! Black - Blue - Aqua (see picture for references). Its length is adjustable to wear it as it best fits you.
It comes in a unique handmade moon-themed gift box, very hard and good quality. The lid reads "I give you the moon..." and when opened, the jewel inside will be framed by "...from the day (customizable from here)". For example: "...from the day you were born". Inside the lid the quotes "From:... To:... " can be filled with the names of the giver and the receiver of the gift. Delivery normally takes 1 to 6 business days depending on your location.
PO Boxes, APO, or FPO, and some countries (i.e. Russia, India) and remote areas are not possible to ship by DHL. In these cases, your order will be shipped by Standard Mail. I will send you a message communicating further options for your specific case, and feel free to ask prior placing your order.

* Oxidized sterling silver is done by a patina that naturally tarnishes the silver to total black, by reacting and creating a surface layer of oxides without affecting the noble characteristics of the metal. It highlights the details and gives the appearance of more depth to the buy design.
Oxidization may fade away in the long term depending under what routine the jewel is worn and as a natural result of wear and tear. Pieces rubbing more often against clothes and skin are more likely to gradually wear away the deepness of the black oxidization than those which are less exposed. For example, oxidized areas in-depth will take longer to fade away than the ones on higher surface.
Over these years, I have significantly improved the techniques for it to be the most lasting possible. I use the best products, prepare the surface to be oxidized for better “penetration” of the patina and last I apply a transparent coating specifically for jewelry to protect the oxidization and general brightness of the jewel.
As for the caring: a brochure will be included with each piece. Do not wipe, clean or polish oxidized pieces. Take it out before showering, swimming or when using cleaning products. Avoid perfumes and cosmetics to be in direct contact with the jewel.
In any case, the oxidation can be easily reapplied by a local jeweler –it's a cheap and simple job for a professional-, or you can always send it to me and I'll do a re-finishing of the piece for free (I would only need to ask you for a shipping fee).
