MAINTENANCE
Epic Armoury metal works products still need to be treated with oil and stored dry. All of our metal armor contains leather parts that need to be regularly maintained with leather maintenance products to prevent the leather from drying out.
CLEANING
If your armor does get wet, it is important that you dry it properly as soon as possible.
After handling, carrying or after six months of storage or display, all metal must be wiped with a clean cloth. Oil the clean surface lightly with a quality machine or mineral oil. You can also coat the entire surface of the exposed metal. Let the laundry dry for a few hours and then lightly brush it up with a soft cloth.
RUST PREVENTION AND REMOVAL
Keep your armor is a dry place and check it every few months for signs of rust. If signs of rust are found, remove it by gently rubbing the affected spot with a slightly abrasive sponge dipped in paste wax, oil or water-dilating liquid.
LEATHER BELTS AND FITTINGS
Clean by removing dirt with a hard brush, then gently rub the leather soap with a clean, damp cloth until the leather looks clean. Remove the soap with a separate damp cloth to wipe away any soap residue and then use a dry cloth to wipe any remaining water from the leather.
You should always condition the leather after cleansing, as the soap has removed some of the natural oils. Treat the leather with mink oil, olive oil or beeswax polish with a clean cloth, gently rubbing a small amount of oil into the leather or polishing it in circles. Soak the leather in the oil before wiping the leather with a final clean cloth to remove excess residue.
