Very buy rare 1950s Zell 5th Avenue 'Knapsack' compact with lipstick clasp and enamelled with Uited States presidential seal. In original box.

This is a very rare Zell 'Knapsack' pressed powder compact with lipstick clasp and beautifully enameled lid depicting the seal of the president of the United States. Zell was a leading compact company from the 1930s to the 1960s. This particular compact is most likely from the 1950s. I could not find any information on this exact model. I'm also not sure if this design was a regular release or specially made. I could only find one other example in red enamel. This particular compact is in quite good condition for its age. It comes with original cardboard box, a square puff and sifter and paper insert. I don't think the actual compact was ever used, however the lipstick looks used. The lipstick mechanism is stuck. Might be due to the fact that contents was crushed in the cylinder and solidified over the years. Could be fixable but I think the lipstick has to buy be removed first. All in all it's a very nice and unique vintage compact.
