Victorian Leather and Brass Oblong Small coin Purse with Compartments, vintage, patterned leather, leather purse, buy red leather, gold pattern

This is an enchanting small Victorian leather coin purse with a brass oblong shape. It is opened at the top by a push in catch which is in perfect working order.

The leather purse is of a red/brown colour and down the front it has been decorated / patterned by darker tanned leather and 6 lines of gold dots, each line going from top to bottom. The pattern is symmetrical in the front and back, please see photos for the intricate detail.

When opened, the inside has 3 compartments and there is an additional hidden 4th compartment which is accessed through a small lever bar. This lever bar is also in perfect working order and opens and closes smoothly. This compartment would have been for any folded bank notes, if you were lucky enough to own one at that time! The inside is lined with very soft red leather.

The hinge at the base buy of the purse is in perfect working order and opens/closes smoothly.

There are no tears or rips to the leather. This is an antique / vintage item and there is some wear and tear but considering it's age, it's a beautiful piece of history.

This would suit anyone looking for a nik nak for a jewellery table, a collector or handbags and purses, antique collector or even be used currently as a small additional purse in a handbag.
