Just another nick-knack shelf? Not even close! That thing bolted underneath is a vintage buggy step from a horseless carriage; it's stamped "1926" underneath. If that wasn't cool enough, check out those vintage shelf brackets. We found them on ebay; they were pretty roached out but look great now with a coat of black paint to complement the buggy step. Now, you can't just throw any old chunk of wood onto a creation like this. This board was actually salvaged from the bleachers in a school gymnasium that had bit the dust. See how the finish on the edge is worn away from all those legs dangling over the side? This piece of wood has had more butts on it than an ash tray at an AA meeting.
This shelf is 18" long and 6" wide; it's 7" from shelf top to buggy step bottom.
Mostly shelves are just shelves. Not this one. buy It oozes character from every pore. We give it a 9 1/2 on the Coolosity Scale. We'd give it a 10, but we're trying to maintain a modicum of humility.
