This original, one of a kind monoprint has been created using plants gathered from the English countryside during the summer and autumn of 2020. During Lockdown, I amused myself by walking the many footpaths around my village and gathering interesting plants to create these intricate, layered prints. Now in 2021, I'm continuing to work with buy these same plants as a preserved record of a very unusual time.
Each print is created using a gel plate and acrylic paint, upon which plants are placed and paper placed on top to capture an outline of the plant structure. Repeating this process with different colours and transparency of paint results in a striking print with complex depth and shades, much like a tangle of plants growing in a summer hedgerow.
Each print comes mounted along with strong backing board. It is wrapped in clear cellophane for protection and packaged carefully with card and bubblewrap before being sent recorded delivery for your piece of mind.
The prints have been photographed outdoors in natural light without the application of filters to provide you with the most accurate, true to life impression of the colours used.
