Initials D A Cut Into Mother of Pearl Shell buy Antique Button

A round antique mother of pearl button - large size. The button is cut with the initials D A. The initials are floating together and there are small cut marks around to give it a feather look. The edge is cut in a counterclockwise design. The shell is white with an iridescent glow in the light.

In the upper right side the shell was thin and the cut was not exact. It has a buy swagged in brass shank.

Measures approx., 1 and 5/16 inch in diameter. The age is probably circa 1770 - 1800.
