Kyoohoo Japanese Kokeshi Doll Nihonbare (k12-3843)
This kokeshi is named "Nihonbare" which means sunny days in Japan.It's made by Masae Fujikawa who is craftperson in Gunma prefecture. The body is drawn some cherry blossoms, a torii which is a gateway to a Shinto shrine, and Mt. Fuji. The body buy is light blue and light green's color. The red neckband is point color, it's stylish. Mt.Fuji is the highest mauntain in Japan. Many people think Mt. Fuji is very beautiful. This kokeshi invite us the place where is Fujisan-hongu-Sengentaisya.

Kokeshi Dolls are major dolls in Japan which are made from wood.
Their origin was in Edo era (1603A.D. - 1867A.D.) as souvenirs for the injured at hotsprings.
Since then kokeshi craftn's skills to make grains and paint was so developed that kokeshis became ornamental dolls.
