Large Vintage Sooner, Murano buy Style, Slag Glass Fruit or Console Bowl, Beautiful Hand Blown Swirled Glass, Handblown Hollow Tube Handle

Offered here is a wonderful vintage, handblown "Sooner" glass console bowl with a hollow tube handle. This piece is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. It measures 12" long by 7 1/2" tall and it is 8" wide. This particular type of Murano style glassware that originated in the "Sooner" state of Oklahoma was very popular during the 1970's but had been sold in five and dime stores around the country as far back as 1959. The most common pattern done in this type of glass is a stylized swan dish or bowl. This particular piece is unusual due to the hollow tube handle that spans the length of the bowl buy and is sealed at only one end. These pieces are traditionally made from recycled or culled glass, otherwise known as slag glass, and they are still being made in areas of Mexico today. However, this piece is guaranteed to be old and has been around since the mid 1970's.
