A set of four originating from the magical Continuum Winery in Napa, these stylish grand size furniture coasters have been hand crafted, sanded in levels until mirror-smooth, and then applied with a stain resistant natural Tung oil for years of use that never goes out of style. The middle layer is an exotic hardwood called Patagonian Rosewood, native to Paraguay in South America. This dark hardwood is very heavy like steel, and the earthy brown-red and black grain harmonize perfectly together to create a beautiful result. The Continuum Winery is a partnership between two Mondavi siblings, Tim and Marcia. Along with their families, they concentrated on finding an extraordinary hillside vineyard site in pursuit of a wine that would rank among the greatest in the world. The Continuum estate is located on Pritchard Hill along the eastern ridge of Napa Valley, high above Oakville. A vintage 2006 Continuum wine is extremely difficult to find, but fortunately we did have a box with that exact vintage year! 2006 Continuum, upon availability, is easily over $350 USD per bottle.

I know that each wine box is a bit different, so I put a lot of care and passion into each separate piece to give you a lasting and unique impression straight from Napa Wine Country! Coasters are probably what I make most, have been enjoying it for years now, and my average time for a set of 4 coasters is four hours! That's the handmade difference. Nothing is rushed and I go over everything twice.

Sporting an unusual reverse bevel cut, these one of a kind tall and heavy coasters are 4 & 1/4 inches square, and an exceptionally solid 2 & 3/4 inches thick! On these particular coasters the letters are branded very nicely into the wood, not painted on. On the bottom are anti-scratch natural cork pads in each corner. These superb coasters are truly made to last and hand down generations, and will be admired by even the most buy hard to please.

The occasional scratch, crack, or flaw will sometimes appear in the wood, and in some cases I jut left it with no other choice as it was an integral part of the product. (A scratch in the middle of a cutting board, for example). I believe these flaws add character and a kind of historical value – made purely to safeguard upscale wine, most wine boxes were still tossed around in warehouses and heaved into delivery trucks until they reached their final destination. I am sure there is a great story behind each one!
