Clay cuneiform tablet modeled on ancient Mesopotamian originals dating from about 3,800-3,700 years ago by an internationally recognized expert using a best approximation of ancient techniques.
This tablet, which is rendered in landscape format, contains a passage from a Sumerian myth called "Enki and the World Order," where the god of wisdom Enki appoints the other gods to their various roles as overlords of the cosmos. Here the sun god Utu, god of justice, travel, and judge of the netherworld, is praised and receives his divine role, including the dominion over the whole universe as the light source of the sky, earth, and netherworld.
This piece can accentuate a variety of home and business settings and is an ideal conversation piece, especially when displayed at the proper angle that brings out the three-dimensional character of cuneiform script (instructions on how to display the tablet are included). It is ideal for mantel and bookshelf decor, or a broad window sill that gets a lot of sunlight! I recommend displaying it on a small wooden easel stand 4 x 3 inches (10 cm x 8 cm). A full description of the tablet's contents and instructions on how to display it are included.
