buy Oh this is pretty! I'd found these kettles before, but this is the first one I've seen that was branded for Sears Maid of Honor Line.
The Maid of Honor Line was an assortment of household goods that any new bride would need (according to Sears!). The items ranged from clothespin bags to cookware.
This particular kettle was made for Sears by Excel and is an exact replica of the Excel T - KET - L
It is a whistling kettle. There is a gauge on the front attached to a float inside. As you fill the kettle, the gauge shows you how many cups of liquid are in the kettle. Stamped: 1-8 Cups Each Cup 8 Ounces. On this particular kettle, there is no float, so the gauge does not register the amount of water.
It has a black bakelite handle that has no cracks or chips. There are minor scratches and small dents as well as some minor pitting of the aluminum. Please review all photos as they are part of the item description.
The inside is not clean - but does hold water without leaking.
The final photograph shows the 1946 Sears Christmas Catalog. You can see a similar kettle for sale. I do not own the catalog page, and I provide it here for historical reference only,
