This dollhouse buffet was made by the German firm of Moritz Gottschalk and dates to around the turn of the 20th Century. The company is best known for their elaborate dollhouses but they also made furniture in several sizes. The smaller furniture was made of die-cut cardboard and light wood while the larger furniture was usually all wood buy.
This buffet is made in 1" scale and measures 3 3/4" tall, 4" wide and 1 5/8" deep. The width and depth dimensions are taken at the top piece and the cabinet is 3 1/2" by 1 1/2". Shown with 1:12 scale chairs for sizing. These are not included and are not available.
Made of light wood with glued construction and painted in dark brownish-red enamel with gilded accent striping and to indicate a drawer.
In nice condition with no breaks or repairs but some loss to the lacquer on edges and also exhibits the finish irregularities that are typically found on Gottschalk furniture. We have shown all sides in our allotted photos, please use them as further illustration of condition and feel free to request others.
