Antique and gorgeous!
This lovely pair of shoe clips are c. 1900 - 1910 or so. They're made in France (stamped on the backs), and are steel-cut faceted beads soldered together to create an intricate pattern. Each bead is silver-tone and faceted to catch the light and shimmer. They DO shimmer in person - the photos are not the best! - and are quite brilliant. They appear darker in the photos because they have the original leather backs.
Condition: very nice. Very light wear. I didn't see any rust, but there may be very small areas I missed. The leather is a little fragile, but I pulled both leather strips out of the buckles and put them back in, with no problem; buy I think they will be fine for some time to come. These do not have the actual clip mechanism, which seems to have been an add-on; you could add one yourself, or use them instead as buckles for a belt, as matching bracelets, or even hair or dress accessories (though they are a bit heavy!).
Measurements: 2" x 2.5"
I'm happy to answer questions, provide more photos, and combine shipping on items. Thanks for visiting!
