This handcrafted pen is a "Pluma" style ballpoint which opens and closes with a twist of the top cap which is easy to grip with a beautifully knurled pattern. It uses standard Parker (or equivalent) ballpoint pen refills (ships with black ink). This pen, my item # 103662, is made of an acrylic resin trade named "TruStone" (a proprietary blend of powdered stone or mineral buy suspended in an acrylic resin designed to simulate the actual stone while making it machinable on a lathe), this particular one in a beautiful glossy black with gold veins running throughout. The metal hardware is a bright gold finish which serves to highlight the gold veins. This is a very attractive and classy pen which is a bit shorter than many and the slightly heavier TruStone gives it a very nice heft. It ships in a plastic gift box with black bottom, clear, hinged top, and a padded, gray inner cushion.
